Mirabella’s Story

My charity has great meaning for me because I was 5 years old when my sister was born three months premature. When I was finally able to see her, she was over a month old. I will never forget how tiny she was and how many medical devices she had attached to her.

She only weighed 3 pounds, 2 ounces. We were so blessed to eventually bring Mirabella home in perfect health.

However, it was not until I was older that I understood how very sick Mirabella was and how close we were to losing her. During that time, my sister had contracted a very serious septic infection and almost died.

As I look back 11 years later, I have a very different perspective on those days. I am so grateful to my Mom and Dad for protecting me from the ups and downs of Mirabella’s NICU stay. I am also so grateful to the NICU doctors and staff at the hospital. As a result of my personal experience, Mirabella’s Miracle was created to help other families who are going through a similar experience.

With charity, you give love. – Mother Teresa
